—— Our Story

Built on 20 Years of Aged Care Experience

NeuronsVR was founded in 2021 in Sydney by Shane Roulston.

With over 20 years of experience in aged and health care, the founder of NeuronsVR recognised the challenges faced by people living with dementia. Motivated by personal experience and clinical insight, NeuronsVR developed evidence-based, non-pharmacological programs designed to reduce distress, support emotional regulation, and promote engagement.

Validated through multiple trials and studies, these programs are now widely implemented in aged care facilities, dementia units, and hospitals. These programs offer a person-centred, clinically informed approach that complements occupational therapy and enhances cognitive, social, and functional outcomes.

—— Our Mission

One goal: Improve the Lives of People Living with Dementia

While our mission is simple, the work behind it isn’t. Everything we build, research, and refine comes back to three commitments never change.

Clinically Developed

Every program is built on proven and researched evidence. Developed with clinical psychologists, neuropsychologists, OTs, and aged care specialists with expert dementia expertise.

Person-Centred

We recognise every resident has a unique story. Our VR therapy is personalised, dignified, and designed to connect with what matters most to the individual.

Continuously Refined

Validated across real-world hospital trials and residential care studies, our evolving programs feed data back into a continuous loop of refinement to drive measurable improvements in daily wellbeing.

—— Our Team

Meet The People Behind NeuronsVR

Behind NeuronsVR is a team driven by a simple shared belief: a dementia diagnosis should not define the person. It should not mean the end of adventure, discovery, or joy. We show up every day because we’ve seen firsthand the magic that happens when a resident puts on a headset and suddenly reconnects with a place, a passion, or a memory they thought was lost. It’s the reason we pour our hearts into building these experiences, ensuring no one feels left behind.
